Augusta, Georgia – Vogtle Units 3 & 4

In April 2008,Westinghouse and its consortium partner, The Shaw Group, signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, to provide two AP1000 nuclear power plants at the Alvin W. Vogtle site.

The new-plant project at the Vogtle site is located outside of Augusta, Georgia, in an area known as the Central Savannah River Area, which is comprised of counties in both Georgia and South Carolina. Below is information about the counties comprising the Central Savannah River Area.

Aiken County, South Carolina
Aiken County is full of charming, beautiful towns with several historical attractions. Residents and visitors can participate in numerous activities available within the county, such as equestrian sports, hiking, fishing, and year-round recreational sports. Burke County, Georgia

Columbia County, Georgia
