Westinghouse Environmental Services UK (WES UK) provides specialist radioactive waste management consultancy and integrated waste-led decommissioning solutions to nuclear operators across the UK. We help clients safely reduce hazard, optimise waste routes and deliver more efficient decommissioning programmes through practical, compliant and innovative waste management strategies.
As part of Westinghouse Electric Company, and with the experience of supporting decommissioning a UK nuclear licensed site, we understand the challenges of managing radioactive waste from both an owner-operator and project delivery perspective. This enables us to provide solutions that are technically robust, regulatory-compliant and aligned with the long-term objectives of our clients.
WES UK continues to support the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and nuclear sites across the UK in the delivery of hazard reduction, decommissioning and waste management programmes. Our experience spans waste retrieval, waste characterisation, packaging strategies, remediation projects and the development of tailored waste management solutions for complex legacy facilities.
Through access to Westinghouse's global expertise and technologies, we bring industry-leading knowledge and practical lessons learned from some of the world's most challenging nuclear environments.
At WES UK, we believe that successful decommissioning starts with understanding the waste challenge.
Our waste-led approach integrates waste management considerations into every stage of a project, helping clients reduce lifecycle risk, improve programme certainty and identify the safest and most effective pathways for treatment, storage and disposal.
