License Renewal

As utilities seek to operate longer, regulatory approval to extend the plant license is the first step.

In the U.S. a license renewal application generally consists of an Integrated Plant Assessment (IPA), Time-Limited Aging Analyses (TLAA) and an environmental report (ER). Westinghouse has the capability to perform/provide support in each of these areas.

In Europe, most countries use Periodic Safety Assessments (PSA) to justify plant life extension, generally in 10-year increments and Westinghouse has experience and capabilities to support PSAs as well.
