Manufacturing

Westinghouse is the nuclear industry's premiere partner when it comes to providing critical and safety-related equipment, equipment maintenance, equipment qualification and engineering services

Engineering, design, manufacturing, testing and qualification are performed in Westinghouse's state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing facility located outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At this facility in New Stanton, Pennsylvania (USA), Westinghouse provides full machine shop capabilities, offering both computer numerically controlled (CNC) and manual machine lathes as well as vertical milling machines (two-axis and three-axis CNC machining).

The full-time tool and die makers who operate the machine shop have a combined 250 years of experience and can accommodate prototyping, one-piece runs and both low- and high-quantity production runs.

The Westinghouse machine shop is certified for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) machining.

We supply products manufactured and tested in our machine shop for operating plant life extension and new plant systems, including 7300 and Eagle System components and cables; analog rod position indication (ARPI) cables, control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) and digital rod position indication (DRPI) head and field cables; AP1000 DRPI cabinet systems; and AP1000 special monitoring system (SMS) cabinet systems.
