PLANT™ – Learning Content Authoring & Management

PLANT

PLANT™ is Westinghouse’s solution to generate and manage highly interactive training content. PLANT combines all the system’s information in one unique platform that allows students to learn the plant by interacting and exploring.

The core of PLANT is the Interactive System Diagram. The purpose of the Interactive System Diagram is to create one digital, interactive and easy to use visual aid that contains as much information as possible about a system. These diagrams can be used by the instructor instead of hundreds of slides to describe the system. In addition, it can be used by the students to review the information before class or for self-study.

All PLANT features are supported by a centralized content management database and an authoring tool to create / organize content. Any multimedia file that can be viewed from a web browser can be linked to the diagrams. This includes, but is not limited to: PDF documents, trends, learning activities and videos. Additionally, PLANT can be synchronized with user’s components or documents databases, to ensure consistency and accurate content at all times.

In PLANT, all training content is linked to its corresponding learning objective(s). With PLANT, instructors can create objective based training materials following the Systematic Approach to Training methodologies. Multimedia objects from the PLANT database are sequenced into learning objectives in an “Interactive Presentation” that contains the lesson plan that the instructor will follow in the classroom. This PLANT presentation can also be used for self-study or Computer Based Training.

How it works:

  • Instructors develop and include a bank of questions in Quiz T BotR
  • Students, in parallel to the course, receive questions in their mobile devices or in their e-mail. Quiz T Bot® stores individual student activity, recording student’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Gives instant feedback after the student has answered a question
  • An Artificial Intelligence engine analyzes the data and sends personalized questions to each student depending on their performance
